Botswana had long been regarded as a leading light in southern Africa, inculcating a climate conducive to private enterprise and entrepreneurship. AIDC Group Executive Chairman Satar Dada recognised the potential and availability of opportunities even before the country’s independence, carving out a corporate path from a single small business to the successful multifarious group with a diverse portfolio comprising differing industries and solid commercial investments. Along the way he has been a leading light in the business community, former specially-elected Member of Parliament and advisor to the government. In addition he is known for his humility and humanitarianism, funding many community assistance projects, both small and large and always prepared to offer help to those less fortunate.

In 1990 the decision was made to coordinate Mr. Dada’s multifarious corporate business interests under one umbrella, known as the Associated Investment And Development Corporation Proprietary Limited, often abbreviated to AIDC. Now ably assisted by his son, Yusuf Dada, AIDC has further grown from strength to strength and continues to both consolidate and expand. The Group continues to look for additional, attractive investments and opportunities which will not only grow the company but also enhance the lives of citizens and contribute to the country’s economic prosperity.
